The Lowland Canals

The Scottish lowland canal system includes the Forth and Clyde and Union canals, which were re-opened a few years ago and provide a waterway link between Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as between the east and west coasts. There is also the Monkland Canal and the Paisley Canal, mostly obliterated by new developments, but small sections of both survive.
